The “We” campaign is designed to get the public to push politicians to act on global warming and climate change.
“We can solve the climate crisis, but it will require a major shift in public opinion and engagement,”
said Gore in a release on the wecansolveit.org website created for the program.
his qoute followed with this…
“The technologies exist, but our elected leaders don’t yet have the political will to take the bold actions required. When politicians hear the American people calling loud and clear for change, they’ll listen.”
The campaign will buy nationwide television, print, radio and online advertising to promote the cause during a three year time frame.
The first ad, which is titled “Anthem” is narrated by William H. Macy.
The theme of the ad is “We didn’t wait.”
As in… roll the videotape please (view below)…
“We didn’t wait for someone else to storm the beaches of Normandy, we didn’t wait for someone else to guarantee civil rights, or put a man on the moon. And we can’t wait for someone else to solve the global climate crisis, we need to act and we need to act now.”
This is followed by a pitch to visit the web site and get involved.
The goal of the campaign is to get 10 million supporters to change policy in governments large and small. The Alliance claims to already have more than one million activists on board.
Partners in the alliance include the Girl Scouts, the United Steelworkers union, and the National Audubon Society.

I Don’t understand the use of 300 million dollars for advertisement, when the money could be used for goal achievement. For example, take a small city or large town and sponsor it. This may sound crazy but not impossible. To sponsor this town, newly built houses go green, and older ones with new green tech added. This would be possible with tax incentives and cost reductions from the sponsors. The biggest must would be car maker sponsors, completely electric commuter cars nothing fancy will need to be outfitted with quick change battery packs to at least go 30 miles options of recharge or exchange battery pack. Instead of gas stations or near the gas stations there could be a battery exchange stations, at least at every small town close to the large town a battery exchange station would be available to make a commute without haveing to wait for recharge. If this was made possible for a decent large town then you wouldn’t need to advertise, your actions will advertise for you. Try my town ( Tahlequah Oklahoma). Just a simple Idea for issues about global warming.

The oil companies and their billions or trillions should be the ones to develop new energy fuels. New fuels will have to be discovered and developed. Hydrogen appears the only unlimited fuel to use, gotten by splitting water economically. The oil companies should be pressured to use their inflated profits to do research, development, and implementation on a world basis, and not just America.

You idiots and your global warming crap!! Why are you listening to Al Gore who is not a scientist, has no degree in anything related to the subject, and is just full of hot air and is looking for a way to get richer (with carbon footprints)!! As in any other idea, follow the money!! This is all for Al Gore to get rich. Sure our earth goes through periods of warming and icing over thousands of years. However, it is the heighth of arrogance to think that all of us humans can control it!!! The sun creates more carbon dioxide than any of us could ever create. Wake up and think with that brain God gave you to think with. It is a well agreed upon by scientists that we are overdue for an ice age which is coming within the near thousand years.

Why not have world wide TREE PLANTING? The elimination of our FORESTS started our problem. If everyone , prisioners included would go all out maybe one day we can reverse our climatic change. Put all able bodied people to work NOW. It will help in many ways including conflic here and abroad by keeping people’s minds busy and rebeautifing our planet, its the only one we have , lets make it again one we can be proud of. Money should not be an object. 4/3/08
