Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles to get married on 4-4-08 according to reports

At first it looked like the rumors of an impending Jay-Z/Beyonce wedding might have been an April Fool’s joke, since the couple reportedly got their marriage license on April 1. But now additional sources are surfacing that say the wedding is set to go off tomorrow, April 4, 2008.

People Magazine reports today (4/5/08) that Jay-Z and Beyonce DID get married last night…

Though there is no official confirmation, the friend says, “It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family.”

The ceremony was followed by a lavish party at the rapper’s Tribeca apartment that drew Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, her Destiny’s Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

Workers have been spotted setting up an event inside a block in the city’s TriBeCa neighbourhood, where rapper Jay-Z owns a luxury home.
A marquee has been erected on a terrace at the building, and elegant bouquets of white flowers and candelabras have been delivered.
It’s rumoured just 30 people will be present at the all-white ceremony, including close family members and Beyonce’s Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams - who are known to be in New York.

Jay-Z owns the 40/40 club, and has adopted the number in several forms, including the tattoo “IV” on his and Beyonce’s ring fingers.

New York Daily News spotted some friends of Jay-Z and Beyonce at a club in New York last night… more rumors, and possibly it IS all an April Fool’s joke???

Celebrity friends of the couple known to be in the city include Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Jermaine Dupri, who were spotted together in SoHo Wednesday night.

Other pals speculated that talk of a wedding was simply the continuation of an April Fools’ joke. On Tuesday, April 1, People.com was tipped the couple had taken out a marriage license in Scarsdale.
