Bob Dylan, the 66 year-old folk singer who was booed offstage for playing his electric guitar at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, has won a special citation from the Pulitzer Board citing “his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power.”

MySpace teams up with recording industry heavyweights for MySpace Music web site

Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group have teamed up with the online social networking site MySpace to launch a new web site focusing on musicians and music. Millions of musicians already have MySpace pages and the companies are promising that the new site will provide “a host of new music services and monetization models,” according to a press release issued by the companies.

Bobby Brown lets loose on Whitney Houston in his new autobiography

In his upcoming autobiography Bobby Brown writes that “I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney (Houston). Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice,” according to a report in the New York Post.
The book is titled Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But and is due out in May.
